Our program will consist of a review of the proper way to finish the commissioning of a fire alarm system. This will be a panel discussion of the code and paperwork requirments of NFPA 3 and NFPA 72. This program is a “can’t miss” discussion by Industry experts and will benefit all Project Managers, Installation Managers, Service Managers and Senior Fire Alarm technicians, as well as Owners. Mike Toika- Fire Marshal, City of Addison, IL
- Mikee will discuss the expectations of the AHJ and what procedures he expects the Installers to perform to demonstrate compliance with State and Local Codes.
Warren Olsen-Fire Safety Consultants, Inc.
- Warren has been an active member of the fire industry since the mid 70’s having served various roles in both the fire fighting service for a number of municipalities and as Vice President of Fire Safety Consultants, Inc. in Elgin, IL. FSCI performs plan review and consulting to over 100 cities and towns in the Midwest. Warren sits on several NFPA and ICC Committees and is considered one of the very best experts in the Industry of Plan Review and Project Compliance. Warren will discuss Code Compliance Issues as well as paperwork and plan requirments for fire alarm installations, including “as built” drawings.
Daniel Finnegan- Industry Affairs at Siemens
- Dan is well known to members of the IL-AFAA, having sat on the Board of Directors. Dan represents Siemens on several NFPA Committees and also site on many of the ICC Committees , as well as NEMA (National Electrical Manufacturers Assn). Dan has championed the fire industry since the mid 70’s and has served in many capacities including a fire fighter, salesman, branch manager and most recently as Industry Affairs Manager representing Siemens. Dan will discuss what the expectations are from a code standpoint, including the recommended practice of commissioning from NFPA 3.
