David Lowrey – Chief Fire Marshal, Boulder Fire Rescue
David Lowrey serves as Chief Fire Marshal with the City of Boulder Fire Rescue in Boulder, Colorado. Lowrey has been with Boulder Fire for 19 years. Prior to his appointment to the position of Fire Marshal, he served eight years as the department’s Fire Protection Engineer. He oversees the Community Risk Reduction Division including code enforcement, building construction, life safety education, and fire investigations. David has extensive experience in plan review as well as inspecting and acceptance testing of fire protection systems. David currently serves as a principal member on NFPA 13 technical committee for installation as well as NFPA 13 correlating committee. He is the current chair of NFPA 72 technical committee for notification appliances and an alternate on NFPA 3 and 4. Lowrey earned a Bachelors of Science in Fire Protection and Safety Engineering Technology at Oklahoma State University.
